FCT and PARSUK announce the opening of Call Studentships Research Fund 2025

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in partnership with the Portuguese Association of Researchers and Students in the United Kingdom (PARSUK), announces the opening of Call Studentships Bilateral Research Fund (BRF) 2025. This Call, which runs until April 22, 2025, represents an opportunity for new scientific collaborations between Portugal and the United Kingdom.

Studentships are intended for early-career researchers based at research centers or institutions in Portugal or the United Kingdom. The principal applicant must be affiliated with a research institution in Portugal or the United Kingdom and may have several co-investigators. At least one co-investigator must be based in the partner country (for example, if the principal applicant is based at a Portuguese research institution, the co-investigator must be based at a British research institution).

In this edition, five Studentships up to €3,000 will be awarded, with the Call having Call annual budget of €15,000. The main objective is to cover small-scale research costs, such as laboratory consumables, software licenses, or assistance in data collection and analysis, or even travel and accommodation expenses associated with work visits.

Applications can be submitted via the online form until April 22, 2025.

Thiscollaboration between FCT and PARSUKis part of the protocol between the two institutions, signed in 2019 and renewed in December 2023.
