FCT joins initiative supported by the EU-Angola Dialogues Program
The dialogue initiative "Sustainable and Attractive Research & Development Institutions" in the field of Science and Technology is coordinated by Angola's Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development (FUNDECIT) and Portugal's Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). and aims to contribute to the effectiveness of the dialogue between the EU and Angola and its enhancement, through the implementation and continuous improvement of the evaluation processes of R&D institutions.
The kick-off meeting for this Action took place online on September 16, with three workshops planned for 2025 and 2026 in Lisbon and Luanda, as well as visits to Portuguese and Angolan R&D institutions, aimed at promoting the construction of more sustainable and attractive institutions.
This Action is supported by the EU-Angola Dialogues Program, financed by the European Development Fund, and is one of 10 proposals approved under the 4th Call for Proposals of the aforementioned Program.
The signing ceremony for the Implementation Agreements took place in Luanda on July 8, 2025. The 10 proposals approved, out of a total of 40 eligible applications, cover several priority areas identified in the Angola-European Union Joint Pathway agreement established in 2012, including issues related to the promotion and development of the Lobito Corridor.
