The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) is part of the organizing committee for the fifth edition of the Workshop on Human Biomonitoring in Portugal (5th HBM-PT), which will take place on October 29 at the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) in Lisbon in a hybrid format.

Under the theme“Biomonitoring for Advancing Next-Generation Risk Assessment,”the meeting aims to bring together researchers, experts in the fields of environmental and occupational health, regulatory agencies, representatives from the chemical industry, and other stakeholders to foster discussion on the contribution of human biomonitoring to health and environmental policies and to the assessment of risks to human health.

The workshop is organized by the Portuguese National Hub for Human Biomonitoring, established as part of the European Initiative on Human Biomonitoring and continued through the European Partnership for the Risk Assessment of Chemicals.

In addition to the FCT, the National Hub currently includes the Dr. Ricardo Jorge National Institute of Health, the APA, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lisbon, the Directorate-General for Health, ENSP NOVA, the University of Coimbra, the University of Aveiro, the University of Minho, and the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation.

Participation is free, but registration is required. Due to high demand and limited capacity, registration for in-person participation is now closed, but registration for online participation remains open until October 25.
