FCT organizes information session on the new Call Choose Europe for Science Call
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) will hold an information session dedicated to Call Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Choose Europe for Science 2025 Call , which is open until December 3, 2025. This session will take place exclusively online on October 10, starting at 10:00 a.m., and will last half an hour. Prior registration is required to participate.
The Choose Europe for Science actions seek to combat the precarious nature of research careers and make Europe more attractive to researchers. The program is divided into two phases:
- Phase 1 (lasting 24 or 36 months): the remuneration of contracted researchers is fully funded by the European Union;
- Phase 2 (mandatory duration of 24 months): the beneficiary institution will be responsible for all costs and for setting the researchers' remuneration, which should be competitive at national level. The aim of this second phase is to contribute to the employability and long-term career prospects of researchers after the project period.
This is a single-beneficiary action, meaning that applications are submitted by a single institution, which must propose and recruit a minimum of three PhD researchers. The researchers, who will subsequently be recruited by the winning institutions, must comply with a mobility rule, i.e., they cannot have resided or had their main activity in the country of the host institution for more than 12 months in the three years prior to the closing date of Call. In addition, they cannot have a permanent employment relationship with the host organization.
The FCT is responsible for promoting Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions in Portugal, regularly holding information sessions and proposal writing workshops. It is also responsible for representing Portugal on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Program Configuration Committee, within the European Union.
Update: The session held on October 10 was attended by 131 participants, demonstrating strong interest from the community. Thevideo recording is available for viewing, and thepresentation slides can also be consulted. We also suggest consulting the FAQ for this Call by the European Commission.
