FCT promotes "Research and Resilience" session in Évora
On February 4, FCT will hold a session at the University of Évora on the theme of "Research and Resilience – Advanced Training and European Funding." Registration is now open here.
The event will be attended by the Secretary of State for Science, Ana Paiva, and will feature speakers from the European Commission, the People 2030 Program, and COTEC Portugal. Doctoral students and alumni will be invited to a roundtable discussion on "the contribution of European funding to a more skilled, resilient, and innovative society," and there will be a presentation on new funding opportunities for doctoral studies.
This event is held under the Demography, Qualifications, and Inclusion – People 2030 Thematic Program, which allocated €160 million in funding for 3,300 Studentships awarded by the FCT, corresponding to 85% of the total eligible investment of €188,235,294.
This support, aligned with the National Strategy for Smart Specialization 2030 (ENEI 2030) and the Regional Strategies for Smart Specialization (EREI), aims to contribute to increasing the number of PhDs in Portugal, with particular priority given to their subsequent integration into the non-academic labor market, namely in companies, interface centers, and third sector entities, among others. More and better highly qualified resources will, in particular, increase the export of products and services based on scientific and technological knowledge and creativity.
The event is free of charge, subject to prior registration. The program is available.
