On April 2, FCT hosted a working meeting on the topic of "Inclusive Research Careers," which aimed to disseminate and discuss the recommendations contained in the position paper "Research Careers: the ground for Gender+ inclusion,"issued by the GENDERACTIONplus project.

The meeting was attended by representatives from State Laboratories, Associate Laboratories Universities and Polytechnics, the Champalimaud Foundation, the Gulbenkian Foundation, COTEC, and CIG – Commission for Gender Equality. Researchers from the relevant subject areas also participated.

GENDERACTIONplus is a project that aims to promote gender equality policies and the sharing of good practices and integration of the gender perspective in scientific research projects. Its objectives are to promote the coordination of gender equality policy in research and innovation in Member States and associated countries, to develop policy solutions to improve research careers and working conditions in European research and innovation, to develop policy solutions to increase the excellence and social responsibility of knowledge by integrating the gender dimension into research, innovation, and education, and to overcome geographical inequalities in research and innovation in the field of gender equality policy, targeting countries that are less involved in this area.

The meeting was very well attended and motivating, highlighting the interest and relevance of the topic. Participants concluded that the conditions are in place to continue the debate, promoting synergies between the various stakeholders present, in order to move from recommendations to action.
