Between 2014 and 2022, FCT and the Health Marathon Association (MdS) promoted the Health Marathon Awards, with the aim of promoting Portuguese scientific research in different areas of biomedicine.
The Protocol signed between MdS and the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP (FCT), provided for FCT support in the application process, including the definition of the composition of the Jury, and the processes for receiving and submitting applications to the Jury.
The funding allocated to the selected research projects came mainly from individual donations raised during the MdS television show, broadcast by RTP.
