Francisco José Sepúlveda Gouveia Teixeira (1956–2023)

The Governing Board of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Francisco José Sepúlveda Gouveia Teixeira, professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico and researcher at the Fachbereich Mathematik of the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt. He served as a member and vice-chair of the FCT Governing Board from 2007 to 2012.

Francisco José Sepúlveda Gouveia Teixeira was born on May 28, 1956, in Braga. From an early age, he was an avid bibliographic collector of works by authors from Castelo de Vide, where he lived. He was one of the founders of the website “Fonte da Vila – Castelo de Vide – História e Património” (Fonte da Vila – Castelo de Vide – History and Heritage) and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fundação Cidade de Ammaia (City of Ammaia Foundation) for several years, an organization whose mission is to safeguard and preserve the ruins of the City of Ammaia, in the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Nossa Senhora da Esperança Foundation in Castelo de Vide.
