COFASP

FCT has been a partner of ERA-NETCOFASP since February 1, 2013, a project involving 26 partners from 15 countries (Denmark, Italy, Norway, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Iceland, France, Romania, the United Kingdom, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Finland, and Belgium), and one European institution, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES).

The COFASP network was created to directly monitor actions planned in the areas of fisheries, aquaculture, and marine food processing. It was created under the KBBE theme in FP7, based on the successes and experiences gained from its previous projectsMariFish(2006-2011) andSEAS-ERA(2010-2014), and is part of the Europe 2020 strategy, which recognizes the bioeconomy as an important part of the strategy.
