CONCERT – Joint European Program for the Integration of Radiation Protection Research

CONCERT was a Joint European Program aimed at contributing to the sustainable integration of European and national research programs in the field of radiation protection (2015-2020). The consortium was formed by 36 institutions from 23 European Union Member States, Norway, and Switzerland, and six European research platforms (MELODI, ALLIANCE, NERIS, EURADOS, EURAMED, and SHARE, operating in the areas of radiation effects on humans, radioecology, nuclear emergency preparedness, dosimetry, medical radiation protection, and integration of social sciences and humanities in the field of ionizing radiation, respectively).

CONCERT developed its strategic plan based on the work of these platforms and supported the establishment of a European research platform in the field of medical radiation protection. CONCERT thus became an integral part of the research agendas of European research platforms and national research programs. The EURATOM Program 2014-2020, a European Commission program for research and training in the nuclear field, co-financed up to 70% of CONCERT's total eligible costs.

One of CONCERT's objectives was to fund innovative and multidisciplinary research projects in radiation protection. You can find information about the 2016 and 2017 Joint Calls at the following links.

FCT carried out its activities in CONCERT by contributing to WP4 (organization and management of Calls two Calls for funding multidisciplinary and transnational research and innovation projects in radiation protection), as described in theApril 2018 AIR²newsletter.

This project has received funding from the Euratom Research and Training Program 2014-2018 under grant agreement No. 662287.
