The International Consortium for Personalized Medicinewas established in 2016 during several workshops organized by the European Commission dedicated to this topic. This consortium aims to provide a flexible framework for cooperation between its member organizations, with the ultimate goal of promoting and coordinating research as a driving force for the implementation of personalized medicine.
ICPerMed has more than 40 funding organizations from 27 European and non-European countries. Members include public and private non-profit research funding and policy organizations. Other organizations or initiatives can join the ICPerMed stakeholder group.
Portugal is represented in this consortium by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), part of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, and by the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA), part of the Ministry of Health.
