More Years, Better Lives - The Potential and Challenges of Demographic Change

Demographic change has been recognized internationally as one of the most serious issues of our time, especially in the developed world. It relates to the sharp rise in life expectancy and the fall in fertility rates, to which complex migration patterns are not unrelated. The MYBL Joint Programming Initiative - More Years, Better Lives - The Potential and Challenges of Demographic Change seeks to provide a concerted response to this challenge on a European scale. Supported by the European Union, it is made up of 14 European countries, joined by Canada, with the aim of fostering collaborative research into the political implications of demographic change by aligning national strategies.
