FCCN Days 2025 record the highest number of registrations ever

The 16th edition of the FCCN Days, held at the Convento de São Francisco in Coimbra, took place from May 6 to 8, 2025 and recorded historic participation figures. The event, organized by FCCN, the digital services of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), with the close support of the University of Coimbra and Coimbra City Council, promoted the sharing of knowledge and the connection between the scientific community, in a space particularly conducive to contact with the student environment and the spirit of innovation.
In total, the FCCN 2025 Days registered 1,051 entries, 116 speakers and 39 sponsors, figures achieved with the support of the two main partners and the entire FCCN team, FCT's digital services. This was the highest number of registrations ever, in an event whose balance is very positive.
Over the three days of the meeting, dozens of thematic sessions were held, including workshops, debates and project presentations, around the three main axes that structured these Days: Technology for Knowledge; Sharing among the community; At the forefront of technology.
One of the new features of this edition, the Innovation Hub, allowed the community to share their projects in a more intimate setting and was well received by the initiative's audience. Topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Collaboration, Process Automation and Innovation Programs were also highlighted.
The FCCN 2025 Days were also marked by the presentation of new digital services and a strong commitment to innovation, Artificial Intelligence, advanced computing and the modernization of existing services in the knowledge ecosystem. The sessions dedicated to open access, scientific repositories and digital services for the community were the scene of several new developments, as well as contributions and the exchange of good practices between all the entities present. These moments once again testify to the dynamism and growth of a community which, for the second year running, once again broke the participation record.
At the closing session of the initiative, the venue for the next edition of the FCCN Days was announced. Porto, between May 5 and 7, will host the meeting in 2026, with the close support of the University of Porto.
