2nd Annual Meeting of the Science Interface Platform

The Interface to Science Platform is holding its 2nd annual meeting on March 2 at the Thalia Theatre in Lisbon, with a program dedicated to the theme "Interface to Science: adding value to knowledge". The event is aimed at managers, communicators and other professionals involved in the areas of interface to science in Portugal, and is supported by the Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Higher Education and the FCT. Registration is open until February 16.

The Science Interface Platform initiative was set up with the aim of promoting a space for the various players in the Research and Innovation system to meet and share, and thus broaden and consolidate the network of contacts between science interface professionals in Portugal.

This year's meeting aims to reflect on the interface areas and their contribution to the development of the national Research and Innovation (R&I) system. The program includes a lecture by Johan Bollen, from Indiana University, on alternative proposals to the current research funding system, followed by a debate with the participation of representatives from different entities of the national R&I system. During the event there will also be an opportunity to discover the work of the Platform, participate in and design the future of this informal national network, and contribute to a structured reflection on the professionalization of science interface areas.
