2nd Annual Meeting of the Science Interface Platform

The Science Interface Platform will hold its second annual meeting on March 2 at the Thalia Theater in Lisbon, with a program dedicated to the theme "Science Interface: adding value to knowledge." The event is aimed at managers, communicators, and other professionals involved in science interface areas in Portugal, and is supported by the Secretary of State for Science, Technology, and Higher Education and the FCT. Registration for participation is open until February 16.

The Science Interface Platform initiative was created with the aim of promoting a space for meeting and sharing between the various actors in the Research and Innovation system, thereby expanding and consolidating the network of contacts between science interface professionals in Portugal.

This year's meeting aims to reflect on interface areas and their contribution to the development of the national Research and Innovation (R&I) system. The program includes a lecture by Johan Bollen, from Indiana University, on alternative proposals to the current research funding system, followed by a debate with the participation of representatives from different entities of the national R&I system. During the event, there will also be an opportunity to discover the work of the Platform, participate in and design the future of this informal national network, and contribute to a structured reflection on the professionalization of areas of interface with science.
