7th Portuguese Internet Governance Forum Initiative

Today, at the University of Aveiro, the 7th edition of the Portuguese Initiative of Internet Governance Forum takes place, which this year is dedicated to the theme "Internet: A game of shadows". Public and private stakeholders, academia, the Internet technical community and society in general will meet at this event, which has been held since 2010 with the main objective of informing, debating and reflecting on Internet governance.

The opening session will feature speeches by Ana Sánchez, Member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and Paulo Jorge Ferreira, Rector of the University of Aveiro. Also participating in the event are different personalities who work in the area of Internet governance.

The program consists of several sessions around topics such as the Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cyberspace Security, and Fake News.

The event is organized by the FCT, in partnership with ANACOM (National Communications Authority), APDSI (Association for the Promotion and Development of the Information Society), API (Portuguese Press Association), DNS.PT Association, Ciência Viva (National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture), CNCS (National Center for Cybersecurity), IAPMEI (Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation), ISOC-PT (Portuguese Chapter of ISOC), Polo TICE.PT, and the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
