The 4th Edition of Call for Individual Scientific Employment Call is now open

The 4th Edition of Call for Individual Scientific Employment Call (CEEC Individual) is now open, with applications being accepted until February 26, 2021. 

CEEC Individual is one of two funding instruments for hiring researchers introduced by FCT in 2017, following the publication of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, which aims to stimulate scientific and technological employment in all areas of knowledge. This 4th edition has 400 vacancies for contracts. The CEEC Individual is an Call that directly supports the hiring of PhD researchers in all scientific areas who wish to carry out their scientific research or technological development activities in Portugal, at institutions that are part of the National Science and Technology System (SNCT).

The other instrument for financing the hiring of researchers introduced by FCT is the Call Institutional Scientific Employment Call (CEEC Institucional), for which applications will be open between February 17 and April 16. This will be the second edition of CEEC Institucional, which will offer 300 positions for contracts. The Institutional CEEC is a Call aimed at institutions to support the development of R&D activities through the hiring of PhD researchers, particularly in careers.

Altogether, the four editions of CEEC Individual and the two editions of CEEC Institutional have opened up 2,200 positions for contracts with PhD researchers. In both Calls, FCT funds contracts for up to six years.
