Opened the Call for R&D Projects in All Scientific Domains 2022

Opened today, February 8, the Call for funding of R&D Projects in All Scientific Domains - 2022 of FCT. The submission of applications runs until March 10, 2022 and the acceptance of the Declaration of Commitment by the Proponent Institutions runs until March 24, 2022. Applications are submitted in English on the myFCT platform.

This Call has a budget of 75 million euros and will support two types of projects: scientific research and technological development projects (IC&DT), with a duration of 36 months and maximum funding per project of 250 thousand euros. The budget allocation for this type is 55 million euros; and exploratory research projects (PeX), with a duration of 18 months and maximum funding per project of 50 thousand euros. The budget allocation for this type is 20 million euros.

Non-corporate entities of the R&I System (research and innovation) and companies of any nature and under any legal form can apply, as long as they are part of IC&DT projects (scientific research and technological development) led by non-corporate entities of the R&I System.

In the Call of R&D Projects in all Scientific Domains of 2021, 551 projects were selected for funding, of which 256 were IC&DT Projects and 305 PeX Projects.

The Call of FCT R&D Projects in All Scientific Domains seeks to increase the national and international competitiveness of science and technology, as well as contribute to innovation and knowledge transfer, and to the achievement of global aspirations set out in Agenda 2030: United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
