Call R&D Projects in All Scientific Fields 2022 now open

Today, February 8, the FCT opened its Call Funding for R&D Projects in All Scientific Fields – 2022. Applications must be submitted by March 10, 2022, and the Declaration of Commitment must be accepted by the proposing institutions by March 24, 2022. Applications must be submitted in English on the myFCT platform.

This Call a budget allocation of €75 million and will support two types of projects: scientific research and technological development (IC&DT) projects, with a duration of 36 months and maximum funding per project of €250,000. The budget allocation for this type of project is €55 million; and exploratory research projects (PeX), with a duration of 18 months and maximum funding per project of €50,000. The budget allocation for this type of project is €20 million.

Non-business entities from the R&I (research and innovation) System and companies of any nature and legal form may apply, provided they are involved in S&TD (scientific research and technological development) projects led by non-business entities from the R&I System.

In Call 2021Call R&D Projects in all Scientific Fields, 551 projects were selected for funding, of which 256 were IC&DT Projects and 305 were PeX Projects.

The FCT Call R&D Projects in All Scientific Fields seeks to increase national and international competitiveness in science and technology, as well as to contribute to innovation and knowledge transfer, and to the achievement of the global aspirations set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
