FCT has opened Calls for 20 Studentships for technological internships in four international scientific organizations of which Portugal is a member, namely the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). Calls are open until November 15 and Portuguese graduates or early career graduates can apply.

The FCT's Technological Internships program aims to provide candidates with the opportunity to undertake advanced training in leading international scientific organizations, seeking to ensure that candidates develop a complementary training plan (on-the-job training) in technological areas that are strategic for increasing the competitiveness of Portuguese companies.

Young people with a bachelor's or master's degree, obtained less than 6 years ago, and with a doctoral degree, obtained less than 3 years ago, can apply. The Studentships on offer are for training in a wide range of scientific areas, with internship opportunities ranging from engineering, natural sciences and computer science to management, technology transfer and innovation, communication and law. The number of vacancies at each institution is as follows: CERN - 8, ESA - 8, ESO - 2 and EMBL - 2.

Technological internships have a maximum duration of two years and are carried out under the agreements signed by FCT with CERN, ESA, ESO and EMBL.
