Call Studentships 2019

The Notice of the Call Call Studentships 2019 has been published. Applications will be accepted from February 28 to March 28, 2019, at 5 p.m. A total of 950 Studentships will be awarded, the same number as last year and higher than in previous years. 

This year, applications can already be submitted using the new CIÊNCIAVITAEcurriculum platform, a unique, personalized, simple, harmonized, and structured curriculum that will soon replace platforms such as FCT|SIG CV and DeGóis. In line with this administrative simplification, the presentation of bachelor's and master's degrees at the time of application is no longer required as an eligibility criterion. Only students who wish to benefit from the score awarded based on their bachelor's and/or master's degree grades should submit the documentation with their application.

Studentships are competitively awarded grants to support the training of scientists in all areas of knowledge in obtaining a doctoral degree. They allow young researchers to devote themselves exclusively to their research, thereby contributing to the scientific and technological development of the country. The FCT currently supports around 5,000 Studentships .

The research work to be carried out by candidates under this Call be developed in any knowledge-intensive environment, namely in collaboration with companies and other public and private institutions, including Public Administration. Host institutions may be R&D Units, State Laboratories, Associate Laboratories, Collaborative Laboratories, or Interface Centers.
