Call Projects on the Architecture of Álvaro Siza Vieira

Following an agreement between the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, the Ministry of Culture, and the Serralves Foundation for research on the work of Álvaro Siza Vieira, the FCT opened the first of two Calls IC&DT Projects. The Call aims to encourage research into the various aspects of his work, from architecture to the arts, from social sciences to engineering and materials sciences.

The topics may address: architectural projects and their relationship with the users of the spaces and their social context; the integration and interrelation of architectural works with the surrounding spaces, the city, the landscape, and the territory; the relationship between architecture and the arts, namely drawing, sculpture, cinema, and the applied arts; the materialization of architecture, including structures, technologies, and materials, and their relationship with performance and surrounding conditions.

The Call a financial envelope of €600,000 and will fund projects up to €120,000 with a duration of 24 months.

Applications will be accepted from March 29 to May 16.
