Call of Projects on the Architecture of Álvaro Siza Vieira

Following a protocol between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, the Ministry of Culture and the Serralves Foundation for research into the work of Álvaro Siza Vieira, the FCT has opened the first of two Calls of IC&DT Projects. O Call aims to encourage research in the various aspects of his work, from architecture to the arts, from social sciences to engineering and materials sciences.

Topics may address: architectural projects and their relationship with the users of spaces and their social environment; the integration and interrelationship of architectural works with the surrounding spaces, the city, the landscape and the territory; the relationship of architecture with the arts, namely drawing, sculpture and film, and the applied arts; the materialization of architecture, including structures, technologies and materials, and their relationship with performance and the surrounding conditions.

The Call has a financial envelope of 600 thousand Euros, and will fund projects up to 120 thousand Euros with a duration of 24 months.

Applications run from March 29 to May 16.
