Call from the Promove Program: Mobilizing R&D Projects
The deadline for submitting applications for the Call for Mobilizing R&D Projects under the Promove Program is underway until October 4, 2020. , launched under a partnership between the FCT and the “la Caixa” Foundation. This partnership, which began in 2018, involves collaboration between the two Foundations with co-financing of projects in the areas of health and society.
The Promove program, presented in a public session on June 17, includes three lines of financing and project development aimed at supporting and stimulating new research and innovation activities and Portugal's positioning in the Iberian Peninsula and in Europe. The Promove Program is specifically geared towards promoting the inland regions of Portugal through research and innovation, with support for innovative initiatives in strategic areas for the development of these regions.
The projects competing for the Call of mobilizing R&D projects must be developed taking into account the following thematic areas: thermal waters as a natural resource and with therapeutic applications; parks and nature reserves, as well as natural spaces of environmental importance; studies on biological risks, including pests and diseases of agricultural and forestry crops; and the development, promotion and appreciation of new national cultures and products for the national and international market.
Applications for this Call of mobilizing R&D projects must be led by R&D units that have obtained a Very Good or Excellent rating in the recent evaluation carried out by the FCT . They may have as partners any non-business entities, under any legal form and size, of the National Scientific and Technological System, namely higher education institutions, their institutes and R&D units, State or international Laboratories based in Portugal, private non-profit institutions whose main purpose is R&D activities, and also other public and private non-profit institutions that develop or participate in scientific research activities. In the case of consortia, applications may also include entities from the central and local administration and the public business sector and companies of any nature and under any legal form.
