Promove Program Call : Mobilizing R&D projects
The deadline for submitting applications to the Call mobilizing R&D projects under the Promove Program, launched under a partnership between FCT and the "la Caixa" Foundation, is October 4, 2020. This partnership, which began in 2018, involves collaboration between the two foundations to co-finance projects in the area of health and society.
The Promove program, presented at a public session on June 17, includes three lines of funding and valorization of projects aimed at supporting and stimulating new research and innovation activities and Portugal's positioning on the Iberian Peninsula and in Europe. The Promove Program is specifically aimed at promoting Portugal's inland regions through research and innovation, with support for innovative initiatives in strategic areas for the development of these regions.
Projects competing for the Call R&D projects must be developed taking into account the following thematic areas: thermal waters as a natural resource and with therapeutic applications; parks and nature reserves, as well as natural spaces of environmental importance; studies on biological risks, including pests and diseases of agricultural and forestry crops; and the development, promotion and enhancement of new national crops and products for the national and international markets.
Applications for this Call mobilizing R&D projects must be led by R&D units that have obtained a Very Good or Excellent rating in the recent evaluation carried out by FCT. They may have as partners any non-business entities, in any legal form and of any size, from the National Scientific and Technological System, namely higher education institutions, their institutes and R&D units, State or international laboratories based in Portugal, private non-profit institutions whose main purpose is R&D activities, as well as other public and private non-profit institutions that carry out or participate in scientific research activities. In the case of consortia, applications may also include entities from the central and local administration and the public business sector and companies of any nature and in any legal form.
