Call of the Promove Program: Mobilizing R&D projects

The deadline for submitting applications to Call of mobilizing R&D projects under the Promove Program, launched under a partnership between the FCT and the "la Caixa" Foundation, is now open until October 4, 2020. This partnership, which began in 2018, involves collaboration between the two Foundations with co-funding of projects in the area of health and society.

The Promove program, presented in public session on June 17, includes three lines of funding and enhancement of projects aimed at supporting and stimulating new research and innovation activities and the positioning of Portugal in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe. The Promove Program is specifically aimed at promoting Portugal's inland regions through research and innovation, with support for innovative initiatives in strategic areas for the development of these regions.

The projects that apply to Call of mobilizing R&D projects must be developed taking into account the following thematic areas: thermal waters as a natural resource and with therapeutic applications; parks and natural reserves, as well as natural spaces of environmental relevance; studies on biological risks, including pests and diseases of agricultural crops and forests; and the development, promotion, and valorization of new cultures and national products for the national and international markets.

Applications to this Call for mobilizing R&D projects should be led by R&D units that have obtained a rating of Very Good or Excellent in the recent evaluation carried out by FCT. They may have as partners any non-corporate entities, under any legal form and of any size, of the National Scientific and Technological System, namely higher education institutions, their institutes and R&D units, State or international laboratories with headquarters in Portugal, private non-profit institutions whose main objective is R&D activities, and also other public and private non-profit institutions that carry out or participate in scientific research activities. In the case of consortia, applications may also include entities from central and local government and the public business sector and companies of any nature and under any legal form.
