Call for R&D projects AI 4 COVID-19 received 39 applications

The Call for R&D projects "AI 4 COVID-19: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration", which closed on May 28, received 39 applications.

The Call application process will be fully completed with the submission of the Declaration of Commitment, by the proposing institution and the researcher in charge, which must be submitted by 17:00 Lisbon time on June 15, 2020.

This is the 3rd edition of a program of annual Calls aimed at research in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence applied to Public Administration, which this year is exclusively focused on data processing in the context of the current pandemic of the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 disease. The aim is for the projects to contribute to responses to this and future pandemics through the application of data science and artificial intelligence. The projects will be developed in partnership between the public administration and R&D institutions, with an emphasis on supporting citizens and healthcare services and entities.

The projects selected for funding will last between 24 and 36 months, with funding of up to 240,000 euros per project. The financial allocation for this Call is 3 million euros.
