Calls of the Horizon Europe "Key Digital Technologies" partnership

The Key Digital Technologies (KDT) partnership of Horizon Europe, which continues the ECSEL JTI in the area of electronic components and systems (or ECS), is promoting two Calls with Deadline for submission until September 21, 2022.

This partnership is one of nine institutionalized Horizon Europe partnerships, established between the European Commission, participating states and three private associations: AENEAS, Inside and the EPoSS. KDT will support the digital transformation of all economic sectors in Europe by facilitating collaboration between industry and research centers. It is active in the field of electronic components and systems in different horizontal areas, such as: microprocessor production technologies; components, modules and system integration; embedded software; edge-computing and artificial intelligence; connectivity; and quality, reliability and cybersecurity. It also includes application areas in the mobility, energy, health and well-being, agrifood and natural resources, and digital society and industry sectors.

The two Calls presented in the 2022 work program cover general (or bottom-up) topics based on the technology areas defined in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda(ECS SRIA 2022) and also priority topics (or focus topics) in the following specific themes: Industrial supply chain for silicon photonics; Design of Customisable and Domain Specific Open-source RISC-V Processors; and Ecodesigned smart electronic systems supporting the Green Deal objectives.

These Calls aim to select transnational projects, which respond to the topics indicated above, to be co-financed by the European Union and the KDT Participating States (among which, Portugal).

National co-funding is allocated through FCT and covers the two Calls from 2022 up to a maximum value of 2 M€.
