Calls for International Cooperation between Portugal and France

Until May 31, applications are open for two Calls of international cooperation between Portugal and France, for joint research proposals.

One of the Calls is carried out under the Pessoa Program, through the Portuguese-French Hubert Curien Program (PHC), managed in Portugal by the FCT and in France by Campus France. This Call has the main objective of promoting scientific and technological exchange of excellence between research laboratories in the two countries. In the last two editions, this program funded 14 projects in the biennium 2019/2020 and 15 in 2020/2021.

The other Call is the Pessoa Cotutelas Program, which seeks to support cotutelle PhD programs developed in partnership between a Portuguese and a French institution, for the triennium 2022/2024, and covers all scientific areas.

These two programs are essentially aimed at funding the mobility of researchers participating in the projects. In the case of the Pessoa Programme, each project will be funded with 2000 euros per year. In the Cotutelas Pessoa Program, the total amount allocated per project is 12,000 euros, spread over 3 years (2,000 euros per year for each of the countries).

All information about these programs is available on the FCT website at the respective pages Calls: Pessoa Program and Cotutelas Pessoa Program.
