FCT awards 1,454 new PhD Studentships in 2021 Call

FCT has published the final results of the 2021Call for PhD Research Studentships , with 1,454 new research Studentships recommended for funding, 4 more than the provisional results. See the final list and the results by panel here.

The contracting process for Studentships approved under this Call begins on the date of publication of the final results, in accordance with the FCT Research Studentships Regulations. As in previous years, it is the grantee who indicates the start date of the Studentship funding, which must cover the period between September 1, 2021 and August 1, 2022, as stated in the Notice of the Call CallNotice of the Call with retroactive payment of Notice of the Call Studentship when applicable.

Candidates with an unfavorable decision have 15 working days to file a complaint against the final decision or, alternatively, 30 working days to file an appeal through the respective area on the MyFCT portal.

The next Call for PhD Research Studentships in all scientific areas is expected to be announced in January 2022.

Deadlines in focus:
Studentship start date - between 01.09.2021 and 01.08.2022*
Submission of documentation for Studentship contractualization in MyFCT - until 21.04.2022**
Claim submission - until 12.11.2021 - 23h59
Appeal submission - until 06.12.2021 - 23h59

*Where applicable, retroactive payment of the Studentship will be made.
**Six months from the date of communication of the conditional granting of the Studentship to submit the documents for contractualization.
