FCT introduces innovative mechanism for reimbursing scientific institutions

In order to speed up the reimbursement of expenses incurred by scientific institutions, FCT is introducing a new payment mechanism, through which it will issue payment, upon subsequent validation of the expense, of 80% of the amount of the expense submitted.

This will be the first time that the FCT has used this instrument, which is justified given the large increase in the institutions' financial execution in recent months. The FCT is currently implementing the necessary adaptations to the expenditure submission systems so that this new transfer mechanism can already take effect in next October's payments.
