FCT introduces innovative mechanism for reimbursements to scientific institutions

In order to speed up the reimbursement of expenses incurred by scientific institutions, FCT is introducing a new payment mechanism, through which it will issue a payment, upon subsequent validation of the expense, of 80% of the amount of the expense submitted.

This will be the first time that the FCT uses this instrument, which is justified given the large increase that has occurred in recent months in the financial execution of the institutions. FCT is currently implementing the necessary adaptations in the systems for expense submission in order to allow this new transfer mechanism to take effect in payments next October.
