FCT launches website on scientific employment
The FCT has launched the website maisciencia.fct.pt, which will bring together information on the funding awarded by the Foundation under the Scientific Employment Stimulus Program.
The website, which is constantly updated, currently brings together information on the 500 researchers selected under the Call Scientific Employment — Individual (CEEC Individual) and the 1,600 projects selected in Call R&D Projects in all scientific fields 2017, under which scientific employment contracts for PhDs will be funded. As the FCT receives details about the 400 researchers hired following the Call for Scientific Employment Call — Institutional and the nearly 2,000 researchers hired under the transitional rule, this information will also be made available.
The website allows users to learn about projects and researchers from institutions across the country and explore how they contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It is also possible to search for specific topics and learn about the contributions of different scientific areas. In the future, the coordination of different researchers and projects around the Thematic Research and Innovation Agendas will also be highlighted.
The link between this website and the CIÊNCIAVITAE and CIÊNCIA ID platforms will provide access to even more comprehensive information about a given researcher.
The website was presented at the first Mais Ciência Melhor Sociedade (More Science, Better Society) session, held in Lisbon on October 31. This was the first in a series of sessions presenting the scientific activity currently being carried out by new researchers within the scope of CEEC Individual, as well as the scientific employment plans selected in Call Scientific Employment — Institutional, under which the first Calls are now being opened. The next presentation session will take place on November 13 at the Almeida Garrett Library in Porto.
