FCT launches website on scientific employment
The FCT has launched the website maisciencia.fct.pt , which will bring together available information on funding provided by the Foundation under the Scientific Employment Incentive program.
The website, which is constantly updated, currently gathers information relating to the 500 researchers selected within the scope of Call Stimulus for Scientific Employment — Individual (CEEC Individual) and the 1,600 projects selected in Call of R&D Projects in all scientific domains 2017, within the scope of which scientific employment contracts for doctorates will be financed. As the FCT receives details about the 400 researchers hired following the Call Stimulating Scientific Employment – Institutional and the almost 2,000 researchers hired under the transitional rule, this information will also be made available.
The website allows you to learn about projects and researchers from institutions across the country and explore how they contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It is also possible to research specific topics and learn about the contributions of different scientific areas. In the future, the articulation of different researchers and projects around the Thematic Research and Innovation Agendas will also be highlighted.
The link from this website to the CIÊNCIAVITAE and CIÊNCIA ID platforms will provide access to even more complete information about a given researcher.
The website was presented at the first More Science Better Society session, held in Lisbon on October 31st. This was the first of a series of sessions in which ongoing scientific activity by new researchers within the framework of the CEEC Individual is presented, as well as the scientific employment plans selected in the Call Stimulating Scientific Employment — Institutional, within the scope of which the first positions are now being opened Calls . The next presentation session will take place on November 13th at the Almeida Garrett Library, in Porto.
