FCT launches site on scientific employment

FCT has launched the website maisciencia.fct.pt, which will bring together available information on the funding awarded by the Foundation under the Stimulus for Scientific Employment program.

The site, which is constantly being updated, already contains information on the 500 researchers selected under Call Estímulo ao Emprego Científico - Individual (CEEC Individual) and the 1,600 projects selected under Call de Projetos de I&D em todas os domínios científicos 2017, under which scientific employment contracts for doctoral candidates will be funded. As FCT receives details of the 400 researchers hired as a result of Call Stimulus to Scientific Employment - Institutional and the nearly 2,000 researchers hired under the transitional rule, this information will also be made available.

The site allows you to learn about projects and researchers from institutions all over the country and explore how they contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It is also possible to search for specific themes and learn about the contributions of the different scientific areas. In the future, the articulation of different researchers and projects around the Thematic Agendas for Research and Innovation will also be highlighted.

Linking this site to the CIÊNCIAVITAE and CIÊNCIA ID platforms will give access to even more complete information about a given researcher.

The site was presented at the first session More Science Better Society, held in Lisbon on October 31. This was the first of a series of sessions in which the scientific activity being carried out by new researchers under the CEEC Individual is presented, as well as the scientific employment plans selected in the Call Stimulus for Scientific Employment - Institutional, under which the first Calls are now being opened. The next presentation session will take place on November 13th at the Almeida Garrett Library, in Porto.
