(Not available in English)
European Researchers' Night, promoted by the European Commission since 2005, will take place this Friday, September 27. As in previous years, FCT is once again joining the initiative, in the program organized by the consortium coordinated by the University of Lisbon, between 6:00 p.m. and midnight, at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC). FCT will be presentingArquivo.pt, theScience and Technology Archive, and theThematic Research and Innovation Agendas, which are services/projects of the Foundation aimed not only at the scientific community but also at the general public.
"Science in the City" is the theme for the 2018-2019 European Researchers' Night, and that is exactly what the event offers us, in various locations across the country and throughout Europe. In addition to Lisbon (National Museum of Natural History, Príncipe Real Garden, and Botanical Garden), there are also activities in Braga, Coimbra, Monsaraz, and Beja.
The initiative, which aims to bring science, researchers, and society closer together, focuses mainly on the challenges that urban communities will face in the coming decades and how science can ensure quality of life in the cities of the future. The various programs of the European Researchers' Night once again offer a wide range of activities, such as scientific experiments and demonstrations, workshops, conferences, practical workshops, games and quizzes, exhibitions, informal conversations, debates, and street entertainment.
