FCT participates in the European Researchers' Night 2019

(Not available in English)

The European Researchers' Night, promoted by the European Commission since 2005 and this year is an exception, will take place this Friday, September 27th. As in previous years, the FCT joins the initiative again, in the program organized by the consortium coordinated by the University of Lisbon, between 6 pm and midnight, at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC). FCT will be presenting the Archive.pt, the Archive of Science and Technology and the Thematic Agendas for Research and Innovation, which are services/projects of the Foundation, directed not only to the scientific community but also to the general population.

"Science in the City" is the theme for the 2018-2019 European Researchers' Night and that's exactly what the event proposes, in various spaces around the country and throughout Europe. Besides Lisbon (National Museum of Natural History, Príncipe Real garden and Botanical Garden), there are also activities in Braga, Coimbra, Monsaraz and Beja.

The initiative, which aims to bring science, researchers and society closer together, focuses mainly on the challenges that urban communities will face in the coming decades, and how science can ensure the quality of life in the cities of the future. The different programs of the European Researchers' Night will again offer a very diverse set of activities, such as scientific experiments and demonstrations, workshops, conferences, practical workshops, games and quizzes, exhibitions, informal talks, debates and street animation.
