FLAD Science Award Atlantic 2020

The Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) will open applications for the FLAD Science Award Atlantic 2020 on November 20. This award is intended for young researchers at the beginning of their careers working in Portugal, who focus their work on engineering and whose research objectives are centered on the Atlantic Ocean.

The prize, worth €300,000, seeks to recognize research in the Atlantic for its decisive importance in understanding a wide range of areas, from the interaction between the oceans, the atmosphere, and space, to climate change, natural phenomena, and sustainability.

Researchers who have obtained their doctorate within the last five years and who are affiliated with a research center recognized by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) are eligible to apply for this award. Applicants must also conduct research in Portugal independently, autonomously, and with scientific quality. Finally, applicants must also include a research collaboration with a US entity.

The deadline for submitting applications for this award is December 20, and the process is carried out online, starting on November 20, on the FLAD website.
