FLAD Science Award Atlantic 2020

The Luso American Development Foundation (FLAD) opens on November 20, applications for the FLAD Science Award Atlantic 2020. The award is aimed at young, early-career researchers working in Portugal who focus their work in the field of engineering and whose research objectives are centered on the Atlantic Ocean.

The award, worth 300,000 euros, seeks to distinguish research in the Atlantic for its decisive importance to understanding very diverse areas, from the interaction between oceans, atmosphere and space, to climate change, natural phenomena and sustainability.

Candidates may apply for this award if they have been PhD researchers for up to five years and are associated with a research center recognized by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The candidate must also be doing research in Portugal, independently, autonomously, and with scientific quality. Finally, the candidate will also have to include a research interaction with a North American entity.

The deadline for submitting nominations for this award is December 20, and the process is done online, starting November 20, at FLAD's website.
