GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID-19 - Online workshop

Under the theme "COVID 19 and Gender Equality: Research on the Impacts of the Pandemic and Contributions to Public Policies", the FCT and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) are promoting an online workshop on March 23 and 24, 2021, between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., which will focus on the special support for research projects "GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID 19" launched by the FCT. Registration is open here and the program here.

Fifteen of the projects approved for funding will take part in this workshop, presenting their ongoing research into the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the lives of women and men. The workshop is organized around the three thematic lines covered by this support: labour market; daily life, stereotypes and gender roles; violence against women and domestic violence. The workshop will be moderated by Fernanda Henriques (U. Évora) and Manuel Abrantes (CESIS), with Anália Torres (ISCSP), Heloísa Perista (CESIS), Vanessa Cunha (ICS) and Carla Cerqueira (U. Minho) taking part as commentators.

The special support GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID-19, for research projects on the impact of the health emergency caused by COVID-19 on gender inequalities and violence against women and domestic violence, was promoted by the FCT, in conjunction with the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality and with the support of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG). Its purpose was to fund projects and initiatives that enable the production and dissemination of knowledge about the gender impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the dissemination of contingency plans and measures adopted to contain and resolve it.
