GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID-19 – Online workshop
Under the theme “COVID 19 and Gender Equality: Research on the Impacts of the Pandemic and Contributions for Public Policies”, the FCT and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) will promote, on March 23 and 24, 2021, between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm, an online workshop that will focus on special support for research projects “ GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID 19 ” launched by the FCT. This workshop will feature 15 of the projects approved for funding , presenting ongoing research on the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on the lives of women and men. The workshop is organized around the three thematic lines covered by this support: labor market; daily life, stereotypes and gender roles; violence against women and domestic violence. The workshop will be moderated by Fernanda Henriques (U. Évora) and Manuel Abrantes (CESIS), with Anália Torres (ISCSP), Heloísa Perista (CESIS), Vanessa Cunha (ICS) and Carla Cerqueira (U. Minho) participating as commentators.
The special support GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID-19, for research projects on the impact of the health emergency caused by COVID-19 on gender inequalities and violence against women and domestic violence, was promoted by the FCT, in conjunction with the State Secretariat for Citizenship and Equality and the support of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG). Its purpose was to finance projects and initiatives that allow the production and dissemination of knowledge about the gender impacts of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 and the dissemination of contingency plans and measures adopted to contain and resolve it.
