GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID-19 – Online workshop
Under the theme "COVID-19 and Gender Equality: Research on the Impacts of the Pandemic and Contributions to Public Policy," the FCT and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) are promoting an online workshop on March 23 and 24, 2021, between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., which will focus on special support for research projects "GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID 19"launched by the FCT. Fifteen of the projects approved for funding will participate in this workshop, presenting ongoing research on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the lives of women and men. The workshop is organized around the three thematic areas covered by this support: the labor market; daily life, stereotypes, and gender roles; violence against women and domestic violence. The workshop will be moderated by Fernanda Henriques (University of Évora) and Manuel Abrantes (CESIS), with Anália Torres (ISCSP), Heloísa Perista (CESIS), Vanessa Cunha (ICS), and Carla Cerqueira (University of Minho) participating as commentators.
The special support GENDER RESEARCH 4 COVID-19, for research projects on the impact of the health emergency caused by COVID-19 on gender inequalities and violence against women and domestic violence, was promoted by FCT, in conjunction with the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality and the support of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG). Its purpose was to fund projects and initiatives that enable the production and dissemination of knowledge about the gender impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the dissemination of contingency plans and measures adopted to contain and resolve it.
