JPI Oceans promotes 10th anniversary visual arts prize

JPI Oceans is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and is marking this milestone by launching an award - the Art & Photo Awards - to honor the marine environment and the scientists who work tirelessly to ensure the health and productivity of the oceans.

With these awards, JPI Oceans seeks to promote the role of photography and the visual arts in addressing the challenge of communicating about the largest ecosystem on Earth, recognizing that these arts are fundamental to bringing society emotionally closer to the marine environment. In this sense, JPI Oceans is open to proposals that fall within its three main areas of activity: Ocean Health, Ocean Productivity and Ocean Management and Governance.

The Art & Photo Awards have two categories: the Open Call and the JPI Oceans Project Call . For each category, three works will be selected, one of which will be declared the winner. The first place winner will receive a prize of up to €1,000 and the two runners-up will each receive a prize of €500.
