JPI Oceans promotes visual arts award on its 10th anniversary

JPI Oceans celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and marks this milestone with the launch of an award - the Art & Photo Awards, with the purpose of honoring the marine environment and the scientists who tirelessly work to ensure the health and productivity of the oceans.

With these awards, JPI Oceans seeks to promote the role of photography and visual arts in addressing the challenge of communicating about the largest ecosystem on Earth, recognizing that these arts are fundamental to bring society emotionally closer to the marine environment. In this sense, JPI Oceans is open to proposals that fit into its three main areas of activity: Ocean Health, Ocean Productivity and Ocean Management and Governance.

The Art & Photo Awards has two categories: the open Call and the Call of JPI Oceans projects. For each category three works will be selected, of which one will be declared the winner. The first place winner will receive a prize up to a maximum of 1,000€ and the two runners-up will each receive a prize of 500€.
