November is the month of #SpaceTalks
November is Space Month for everyone. The European Space Talks are coming up, an initiative of the European Space Agency (ESA) promoted in Portugal by the Foundation for Science and Technology, which wants to get everyone orbiting around space issues, without taking their feet off the ground. The initiative aims to get citizens, companies, institutions, schools and whoever else wants to organize sessions in various formats to discuss space.
Anyone can be a Space Ambassador and organize a #SpaceTalk. Simply define a program and register it here. Then all you have to do is publicize it with the materials available here and with the help of FCT, which will make a calendar of activities available on its website.
If you need inspiration, we have several suggestions: Space, what we can see, what we can't see but know is there, how its technologies change our lives and how it is a passion for so many. In this way, spaces can be created for sharing experiences and learning, in the living room of your home or in the auditorium of your company, from kids to adults. The stars can be researchers, scientists, astronomers and even astronauts, but also lovers of space who have an amateur relationship with it. The sky's the limit. Literally.
The ESA maintains a list of events already planned on its website. Registered participants can also take part in the #SpaceSelfie Call and be in with a chance of winning a trip to the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
These are the events that are currently planned:
Conversations in Space - Coimbra - November 27, 2018 - Department of Physics, University of Coimbra
Science Café: Other Earths in the Universe? - December 15, 2018 - Alqueva Lake Observatory
