November is #SpaceTalks month

November is Space for All month. The European Space Talks are coming, an initiative of the European Space Agency (ESA) promoted in Portugal by the Foundation for Science and Technology, which wants to get everyone orbiting around space issues, without taking their feet off the ground. The initiative aims to get citizens, companies, institutions, schools, and anyone else who wants to organize sessions in various formats to discuss space.

Anyone can be a Space Ambassador and organize a #SpaceTalk. Just set up a program and register it here. Then, promote it using the materials available hereand with the help of FCT, which will publish a calendar of activities on its website.

If you need inspiration, we have several suggestions: Space, what we can see, what we cannot see but know is there, how its technologies change our lives, and how it is a passion for so many. This can create spaces for sharing experiences and learning, in your living room or in the company auditorium, from kids to adults. The stars can be researchers, scientists, astronomers, and even astronauts, but also those who are passionate about Space and have an amateur relationship with it. The sky is the limit. Literally.

ESA maintains a list of planned events on its website. Registered participants can also take part in Call #SpaceSelfie Call and have the chance to win a trip to the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

These are the events that are currently planned:

Conversations in Space – Coimbra – November 27, 2018 – Department of Physics, University of Coimbra

Science Café: Other Earths in the Universe? – December 15, 2018 – Alqueva Lake Observatory
