FCT's new Scientific Councils
The first meeting of FCT's new Scientific Councils was held last Friday, September 29. The four Scientific Councils are an advisory body supporting the FCT Board of Directors, providing strategic advice and recommendations on the development, implementation and adaptation of programs to support science and technology.
The Scientific Councils are divided into the areas of Exact Sciences and Engineering, Life and Health Sciences, Natural and Environmental Sciences and Social Sciences and Humanities. Each of these councils is made up of 7 members of recognized scientific merit. The councils meet every two months.
