New FCT Scientific Councils

The first meeting of the new FCT Scientific Councils was held last Friday, September 29th. The four CCs are an advisory body supporting the FCT Board of Directors, providing strategic advice and recommendations on the development, implementation and adequacy of programs to support science and technology.

The Scientific Councils are divided into the areas of Exact and Engineering Sciences, Life and Health Sciences, Natural and Environmental Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities. Each of these councils is composed of seven members of recognized scientific merit. The councils meet every two months.
