Portugal INCoDe.2030

This is an inter-ministerial initiative that brings together the government areas of Administrative Modernization, Science, Technology and Higher Education, Education, Labour, Planning and Infrastructures and the Economy, and aims to strengthen the basic skills in Information and Communication Technologies of the Portuguese population, preparing them for emerging digital-based job opportunities.
O Portugal INCoDe.2030 aims to respond to three major challenges:
1. ensure digital literacy and inclusion for the exercise of citizenship;
2. stimulate specialization in digital technologies and applications for job qualification and a higher value-added economy;
3. produce new knowledge in international cooperation.
The initiative is based on five lines of action: inclusion, education, qualification, specialization and research, each of which is associated with a set of public policy objectives and measures that will be pursued by various institutions and entities.
At 3 p.m., the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, will present, on behalf of the Government, the National Digital Skills Initiative e.2030 - Portugal INCoDe.2030. The Prime Minister, António Costa, will close the session at 16:30.
The session will also be attended by the Minister for the Presidency and Administrative Modernization, Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, the Minister for Education, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, the Secretary of State for Employment, Miguel Cabrita, the Secretary of State for Development and Cohesion, Nelson de Souza, and the Secretary of State for Industry, João Vasconcelos.
