Portugal INCoDe.2030

This is an interministerial initiative that brings together the government departments of Administrative Modernization, Science, Technology and Higher Education, Education, Labor, Planning and Infrastructure, and Economy. It aims to strengthen the basic skills of the Portuguese population in Information and Communication Technologies, preparing them for emerging digital-based employment opportunities.
The Portugal INCoDe.2030 aims to respond to three major challenges:
1. ensuring digital literacy and inclusion for the exercise of citizenship;
2. stimulating specialization in digital technologies and applications for job skills and a higher value-added economy;
3. producing new knowledge in international cooperation.
The initiative is structured around five areas of action: inclusion, education, skills, specialization, and research, each of which is associated with a set of objectives and public policy measures that will be pursued by various institutions and entities.
At 3 p.m., the Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, will present, on behalf of the Government, the National Digital Skills Initiative e.2030 – Portugal INCoDe.2030. Prime Minister António Costa will close the session at 4:30 p.m.
The session will also be attended by the Minister of the Presidency and Administrative Modernization, Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, the Minister of Education, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, the Secretary of State for Employment, Miguel Cabrita, the Secretary of State for Development and Cohesion, Nelson de Souza, and the Secretary of State for Industry, João Vasconcelos.
