UTAustin Program

As part of the UTAustin - Portugal Program, FCT has announced the results of the Call for Exploratory Research Projects, which recommends 8 projects for funding out of the 54 applications received. The total investment for these projects is 390,370.22 euros, with a maximum funding limit of 50,000 euros for each project.

This Call aims to develop research activities between Portuguese universities and the University of Texas at Austin (UTAustin) in which exploratory projects with expansion will provide solutions to real-world problems. The projects selected in this edition will explore the areas of Advanced Computing; Medical Physics for Emerging Cancer Therapies; Nanomaterials for New Markets and Space-Earth Interactions.

This Call took place under the partnership agreement between FCT and the University of Texas at Austin, as part of the goPORTUGAL - Global Partnerships in Science and Technology program, promoted by FCT, whose mission and objectives are to enhance the process of internationalizing scientific and technological research in Portugal, developing the creation of scientific and qualified jobs and fostering the creation and growth of new science and technology-based companies. The goPORTUGAL program includes partnerships with other leading foreign research institutions, such as Carnegie Mellon, Harvard Medical School, Imperial College London and Fraunhofer.
