Results of Call the award of the title of Collaborative Laboratory

The evaluation of applications submitted for the title and designation of Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) has been completed. Six proposals received a positive opinion. The approved list with the final classification of applications submitted to Call available here. The proposals now evaluated were presented at the public session held on November 15, 2017, in Lisbon.

Collaborative Laboratories have 90 days after the decision to award the title to establish themselves as private non-profit associations or companies. These institutions will directly and indirectly create skilled and scientific jobs in Portugal through the implementation of research and innovation agendas geared towards creating economic and social value.

CoLABs must respond to the challenge of densification of the national territory in terms of knowledge-based activities, through increasing consolidation of forms of collaboration between science, technology, and higher education institutions and the economic and social fabric, namely companies, the hospital and health system, cultural institutions, and social organizations. Obtaining the title will subsequently allow them to compete for specific funding.

The Call open permanently. The next meeting of the evaluation panel will take place on April 20.
