FCT approved 129 projects in the first edition of Call Advanced Computing Projects (CPCA), including 67 projects of types A1 and A2, out of the 133 applications received (50.4% approval rate for A1 and A2 projects). The final ranked list of projects is available here.

More than 80 million core hours were requested in this first Call Advanced Computing Projects (CPCA). The initial capacity of 27.3 M was, however, revised to 35.3 M in order to accommodate more projects.

The 62 remaining projects below the cutoff line were assigned A0 or A00 trial vouchers, depending on their position in the ranked list.

In total, there will be 129 applications with access to the resources of the National Advanced Computing Network, in the three available categories:

  • HPC – High Performance Computing
  • HTC – High Throughput Computing
  • Cloud Computing

The Call Advanced Computing Projects is part of the National Digital Skills Initiative e.2030, Portugal INCoDe.2030, in Axis 5 – Research, which aims to ensure the conditions for the production of new knowledge and active participation in international R&D networks and programs – public or private, non-profit research institutions dedicated to scientific research and technological development.
