Results of the 1st edition of Call of Advanced Computing Projects

FCT approved 129 projects in the 1st edition of Call of Advanced Computing Projects (CPCA), among which 67 projects of types A1 and A2, from among the 133 applications received (50.4% approval rate for A1 and A2 projects). The final ordered list of projects is available here.

More than 80 million core.hours were requested in this 1st Call of advanced computing projects (CPCA). The initial capacity of 27.3 M has since been revised to 35.3 M in order to accommodate more projects.

The 62 of the remaining projects below the cutoff line were assigned either A0 or A00 trial vouchers, depending on their position in the ordered list.

In all, there will be 129 applications with access to the resources of the National Network for Advanced Computing, in the 3 available modalities:

  • HPC - High Performance Computing
  • HTC - High Throughput Computing
  • Cloud Computing

The Call for Advanced Computing Projects fits in the National Initiative Digital Competencies e.2030, Portugal INCoDe.2030, in Axis 5 - Research, which aims to ensure the conditions for the production of new knowledge and active participation in international R&D networks and programs - public or private, non-profit research institutions dedicated to scientific research and technological development.
