Results of Call 2021 Call Research Call by the “la Caixa” Foundation with FCT

The results of Call Research 2021 approved funding for 17 candidate projects, four of which are led by Portuguese institutions and researchers. The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), under the agreement signed with the “la Caixa” Foundation in 2020, will directly fund two of these projects, which will be developed over the next two years, with an investment of around €200,000.

This Call under the Iberian Initiative for Research and Social Innovation – i4s established between FCT and the “la Caixa” Foundation, which supports research projects in the social field. The collaboration with FCT has been ongoing since the 2020 edition and has enabled the joint funding of a total of six projects led by Portuguese institutions, with a combined investment of over €580,000.

The 17 proposals selected for the 2021 edition aim to support social research projects based on quantitative data that stand out for their excellence and which, through an original and innovative approach, generate robust and solid information that allows for an in-depth understanding of the present and future social challenges facing Portugal and/or Spain.

The four Portuguese projects selected in this Call from research centers and universities in two regions: two projects from the North Region (Porto and Braga) and two projects from Lisbon.
