Final results of Call de Sousa Call 2021
The FCT has published the final results of Call Maria de Sousa 2021 PhD Studentships Call , with 33 Studentships recommended for funding, a total that confirms the provisional results announced in July. The awarding of these Studentships a total investment of €2.4 million. See the final list here.
The final results of the evaluation show that 79% of the selected candidates are women, 15% are foreign nationals, and 18% of the work plans were carried out in collaboration with foreign researchers and institutions.
This Call aimed at obtaining new knowledge that will enable the creation of skills to respond to epidemiological and virological phenomena, including pandemics, and that will translate into effective prevention measures, better healthcare, and effective support for citizens. Its title pays tribute to researcher Maria de Sousa, Professor Emeritus at the University of Porto and Emeritus Researcher at the i3S Institute, as well as retired professor at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, internationally renowned for her studies in the field of immunology, particularly in the thymus-dependent area, or T area.
The process of contracting the Studentships under this Call on this date, in accordance with the FCT Studentships Regulations. As in Calls , it is the scholarship holder who indicates the start date of the Studentship funding, which must be between September 1, 2021, and August 1, 2022, as stated in Call Notice of the Call Call, with retroactive payment of Studentship, where applicable.
Candidates who receive an unfavorable decision have 15 working days to submit a complaint against the final decision or, alternatively, 30 working days to lodge an appeal through the respective area on the MyFCT portal.
