Second warm-up for the 2020 Science Meeting
This Wednesday, October 21, the second Warm Up Session previewing the 2020 Science Meeting will take place. The session will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Ponte de Sor Arts and Culture Center and will be streamed live.
"Digital Planet: new opportunities, jobs, and businesses associated with Earth observation for climate action" was the theme chosen for this session, and researchers and industry representatives from the fields of Space, Oceans, Forests, Territory, and Aeronautics will be participating in the debate.
The third and final session of these warm-ups for the 2020 Science Meeting will take place in Porto on October 26. These sessions seek to discuss the importance of scientific research in the country's recovery and resilience in the context of the pandemic.
The Science Meeting 2020 will take place on November 2, 3, and 4 in Lisbon. This year, two Nobel Prize winners will be special guests: Sir Richard Roberts, Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1993, and Aaron Ciechanover, Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2004.
The Science Meeting 2020 is an initiative of the FCT, in collaboration with the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture – Ciência Viva and the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science, and is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education.
