'Smart Solutions for Aging Well' is the challenge of the AAL 2018 Program

The AAL (Active and Assisted Living) Association, which has the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as an associate member, launched the 2018 edition of Call transnational of the AAL Program. Registration is open until May 28th and the Call is dedicated to the theme 'Smart Solutions for Aging Well'.

Participants are challenged to develop innovative, international and multidisciplinary projects that, through new technological solutions, contribute to improving the quality of life and autonomy of the elderly.

With the 2018 edition, some new features emerge, such as the possibility of submitting collaborative projects for the development of technological solutions aimed at diverse applications and areas in the healthy and active aging sector, in addition to different target markets.

This year, the Call It is also more flexible regarding the purpose, size and duration of submitted projects by introducing a new type of projects, 'small collaborative projects'. These have a duration limit of 6 months, maximum financing of up to €300,000 (for the entire consortium) and the application and reporting processes are simpler. 'Small collaborative projects' are exploratory in nature, aimed at creating new concepts, ideas and approaches.

All projects must be developed through consortia composed of at least three organizations from three AAL Program member countries (including end-user organizations and a commercial partner).
