'Smart Solutions for Ageing well' is the challenge of the AAL Program 2018

The AAL (Active and Assisted Living) Association, which has the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as an associate member, launched the 2018 edition of the transnational Call of the AAL Program. Applications are open until May 28 and the Call is dedicated to the theme 'Smart Solutions for Ageing well'.

Participants are challenged to develop innovative, international and multidisciplinary projects, which through new technological solutions contribute to improving the quality of life and autonomy of seniors.

With the 2018 edition comes some new features, such as the possibility of submitting collaborative projects for the development of technological solutions that target diverse applications and areas in the healthy and active aging sector, as well as different target markets.

This year, Call is also more flexible regarding the purpose, size and duration of projects submitted by introducing a new type of project, the 'small collaborative projects'. These have a maximum duration of 6 months, a maximum funding of up to 300.000€ (for the whole consortium) and the application and reporting processes are simpler. Small collaborative projects are exploratory in nature, aimed at creating new concepts, ideas and approaches.

All projects must be developed through consortia consisting of at least three organizations from three AAL Program member countries (including end-user organizations and one business partner).
